About Long Run Fitness and Dalmo Martins
|
I began my passion for fitness in Brazil, my birthplace, at the age of fourteen.
Since that time, fitness has always been a big part of my life -- playing soccer,
practicing capoeira, swimming or simply working out.
At the age of eighteen, I earned my instructors certification in Brazilian Martial Arts
-- Capoeira. I moved from Brazil to the United States in 1987 and began to work and perform
at multiple venues, including Lincoln Center, NY., and taught workshops in Woodstock, NY.,
and Boston with Master Nego Gato.

I relocated to Los Angeles in1988 and began teaching
Brazilian Martial Arts throughout the L.A. School System. Also in Los Angeles, I taught and
performed with Master Amen Santo at UCLA, USC, Santa Monica Summer Music Festival on the Pier
and in the play "Vida Complicada".
I came to Santa Cruz in 1992 and began work as a fitness activist. In 2000 I opened my own
private fitness studio and subsequently earned the "National Endurance & Sports Association"
certification as a personal trainer.
As a certified personal trainer, I strive to offer my clients a unique fitness experience.
